May 25,2015- I'm staying in DUNDEE!!

at our stake conference with sister Wilkison and Lila and bishop brown. Mom here -- sorry she didn't give me the names of the elders. This is her old companion sister wilkinson. Sister Reed her companion now was taking the picture. These are people she new and baptized from her last area.

HIYA!
I hope you all had a great week this week!
First of all I'm staying in Dundee! :D And Sister Reed is still my companion! Yay

Secondly, I get to see Elder Holland! He's coming next week to Edinburgh and is giving a devotional for all the missionaries!!!! SO COOL! He'll be here on the 6th! :DDD

It has been a good week though. We've had a lot of blessings. We saw one of our investigators that has been trying to get off the drugs but we lost contact with him cuz his mom said he was back on them and she kicked him out. But we ran into him at a bus stop in this crazy city! And we were actually super late for an appointment with his mum, but if we hadn't been late we wouldn't have seen him. Not to mention I've never seen his eyes so clear, usually they're pretty glazed over. So that was cool. AND! There is a charity shop here in the Wellgate (which is basically just a mall) that's for deaf people! It's called Deaf Hub. Not sure why, but Sister Reed and I are totally volunteering there and are going to meet some awesome deaf people and I'm so excited!!

I've been studying 2 Nephi 3 which testifies about the BoM and Joseph Smith because one of recent converts has had a lot of questions and some doubts about those two things and reading that chapter has strengthened my testimony of them. I testify that if you want to know if this gospel is true, that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that Joseph Smith was a prophet study the BoM. I read something that says we should start study with a prayer. write down questions and choose a specific block of scriptures to read then answer the questions as you read. Pray again and ask God to help you understand more deeply the things He wants you to know and then read that block of scripture again, revise answers and then pray at the end to know if it's true. My mind was blown when I read that! Because study truly needs to be us communicating with God frequently. I have loved doing this and I find myself understanding more and feeling the spirit more in my study. I love the Book of Mormon and this gospel and I testify that it bring us everlasting happiness.

Have a good week all!

May 18, 2015: HI YA! from Scotland, it's been a stressful week.

Got this pic from her today. I thought it was so cool. On the streets of Scotland. Her yellow skirt just pops with color against the cobble street. We also got a dropbox link of the Easter choir tour where all the sister and elders have their own folder where they can upload all the pictures they took. It has been fun going through them. This is one of the pictures from that link.

Hello everyone! I hope you're all well!

We got and interesting wake up call to our phone ringing at 6:20! it was the elders asking if they could use our church key to go to the church for their work out this morning. I guess they forgot theirs... Lets just say Sister Reed and I didn't like missing those 10minutes! But its ok... they're nice enough elders ;)

This week was a bit crazy but good! we had a LOT of people drop our appointments, members, investigators, just all around everywhere haha. Which is fine. gives us more time to do finding!

We had stake conference this week! I got to sign for Lily, Mark and Andrew! So fun. the new sister, Sister Skagen, is like way good! She took ASL classes for 3 years so she's a super good interpreter! Our stake conference was a lot about the attitude of positivity. I learned that positivity is the mind-set that will lead to a change in us and in others. It was a really good stake conference! There is and Elder Boehme (baymie) from AZ that's going home this transfer. He is an amazing Elder and we're going to miss him.

I was just thinking the other day when we walked by this awesome church. ( I think it was one) It was crammed on this little street next to a bunch of flats but it was beautiful! It even had bells in the bell tower! So that was cool. I just still don't understand how people can graffiti or litter on or near something to historical! I mean we went to some caves back in Kirkcaldy they had ancient carvings. Like before Mideval times and some guys took a car in there and lit it on fire causing all of the carvings to go away! Bah! how even do people do that....? Anyway haha it's not too often you hear a horror story like that XD
Miracle yesterday. I took a nap during lunch( haha that's not the miracle). basically slept all the way through it! Knocked out cold! When I woke up I was still super exhausted and I think my blood sugar level was low so I was feeling a bit shakey. But I knew I had to go out and do the work so I prayed tht Heavenly Father would bless me with the strength and energy to go out. And he totally did! The more and more people I talked to the happier I felt and the more energy I received, it was awesome. C: The Lord watched over us.

I've been studying a lot in D&C... as I'm sure I've mentioned... But in section76 Joseph Smith and Sidney Rigdon receive revelation concerning the 3Kingdons of glory. Its way cool, but I love that it talks about the Celestial Kingdom first. Because that's the one that we're striving for! How awesome is that?

Also the more I'm here the more I believe that Tolkien modelled hobbits after the Scottish people. Also for those of you who want to visit here someday be prepared for the amount of smoke and the really bad B.O. agh... sometimes the buses are the worst.... But other than that (and the rain) Scotland is beautiful! :)

Hope you all have a great week!

The church is true and the Book of Mormon is the word of God. It will help you through anything. Any problem you face you can overcome through Jesus Christ and reading Gods word.

Skyping was awesome! And I DROVE!!

Hello all!
I got to drive on Wednesday! Yes drive! I was scary and I'm pretty sure Sis Sawyer thought we were going to die haha. We went on exchanges and I was going with her to Dunfermline while Sis Reed and Sis Montgomery stayed in Dundee. (they are like an hour apart) But Sis Sawyer doesn't have her license cuz she's from Whales and it's super expensive to get them. So I drove and I nearly clipped the side of a bus, well I did, but it was only the mirror and it bends anyway so it wasn't too bad and then I drove on the wrong side of the road at one point... but in my defence I thought it was a two lane road! Other than that We were fine and I was driving all day so I think I did pretty good! Don't worry I won't be driving anytime soon ;)

I've been studying some in Alma 18 about Ammon and I love how much it shows that Ammon teaches by the Spirit! Not only does he discern the Kinds thoughts but he waits. I think that Ammon waited for the king to speak for an hour partly because he didn't know what to say! I'm sure he realized the importance of the situation and was earnestly praying and seeking for guidance. He probably also knew that the Spirit was speaking to Lamoni and that he needed to be quiet. Basically Ammon is awesome!

Lots of blessings this week we're teaching this cool guy from Latvia!

Love you all, the Lord loves you most!

PS back in Kirkcaldy, I hiked a "hill" basically a mountain! I had a great view though!

Dundee is awesome!

Sister McBride and her new companion sister Reed.
Hello everyone!
Everyone thinks it should be getting warmer here... well we thought so too until yesterday! Of course the one day I don't wear my water proof boots is the one day where it rains all day (no joke) and we decided to go chapping (knocking on doors) for an hour and a half. Woot woot! Not to mention we have to walk to church so that's always fun ;) I was ridiculously cold, lets just say that. But we had a great lesson with one of our investigators from Latvia named Dimitri! He's pretty cool and is going to Uni (I thing that means the University) here in Dundee.

Dundee is awesome! Things are going good. But it really is so hard not working with members. Sis Wilkinson and I were seeing at lest one member a day, but since Sister Reed doesn't know very many and the bus system here is absolutely ridiculous! We don't see very many members so sometimes we struggle finding things to do cuz we're like... welp we have 2hrs in between these 2 appointments... what are we going to do?!.... find, chap, GQ which are fine it's just really hard to do for 2 hours! Anyway its going good though. We're slowly building up member friendships and a potentials list.

Dundee is actually pretty sunny. We're technically on the shore of the river Tay right across from the towns Newport and Tayport but were right next to where it empties out into the ocean. Though were not as close and it's not as easily accessible as the beach was in Kirkcaldy which is unfortunate because I actually enjoyed running when it was on the beach! haha. There is a great view from the Dundee chapel that I'll have to remember to take a pic of!

We had Zone Interview Training this last week and the mission president come over. It was my last interview I think! Since the new mission Prez is coming in in June. It was so good. Every time I go to these conferences I always learn something-multiple things!-that I feel are tailored to me and my needs, to encourage, motivate and bring me back to reality! They are so good. Truly inspired of God and I love them.

Remember God loves you and you can pray to Him for anything. He loves hearing from you. I know that.

Have a fantastic week!

Love,
Sister McBride
